Team Coordination

Having a review leader serve as a liaison between the EIC and the review team improves the efficiency and effectiveness of the review process. This process allows the EIC more flexibility to coordinate all risk review areas across the entire exam.

The EIC may assign a review leader to develop the exam scope and assign tasks within the primary review areas. The EIC may rely on the review leader to help ensure that a team has adequately documented work performed, set up meetings with appropriate credit union staff, and verify that appropriate matters have been brought to the EIC’s attention before team members depart the exam. If assigned, the review leader shall:

  • Use appropriate TMS work code to record pre-exam time spent planning and scoping
  • Coordinate a date and time for the exit meeting and joint conference with the EIC. If requested by the EIC, review examiners should be available to participate in the meeting(s)
  • Compile all work completed by the review team into one set of documents to be delivered to the EIC before the end of the last day of the onsite work, unless the EIC approves a later delivery date as addressed in the NSPM
  • Facilitate loan discussions with credit union management and loan officers during the exam
