Credit Union Profile

The Profile section of CUOnline allows credit unions to provide operational information that changes on an infrequent basis, such as disaster recovery information, emergency contact information, and information systems and technology details. Key information in a Profile includes:

  • Emergency contact information
  • Board and committee information
  • Main office and branch locations
  • Programs and services offered by the credit union
  • Information security and technology information (for example, data processing vendor or payment systems service provider)
  • Regulatory information (for example, the date of the most recent member verification, audit, and disaster recovery test or the name of the fidelity bond provider)

NCUA requires credit unions to review and certify Profile data with each quarterly Call Report submission. Detailed instructions for completing a Profile are included in NCUA’s CUOnline Instructions.

NCUA regulation § 741.6(a)(1), Credit Union Profile, requires federally insured, natural-person credit unions to update the Profile with accurate information within ten days of electing or appointing (hiring) senior management or a volunteer official. A change to any other information in the Profile must be reported within 30 days of the change. Examiners should review and verify the accuracy of information reported by a credit union.

Examiners will receive an email notification when a credit union in their district changes its Profile information, and should verify any material changes at the next scheduled examination.

For troubled or newly chartered credit unions, examiners must ensure any changes to officials or senior executive officers were approved by the Regional Director as required by NCUA regulation § 741.205, Reporting requirements for credit unions that are newly chartered or in troubled condition. The Change of Officials section of the NSPM outlines procedures for these types of personnel changes.

Refer to the Call Report and Profile section for specific guidance on reviewing credit union online profiles.
